Non-violent Conflict Resolution through Forgiveness

Forest Gate School
6 November 2009
Thanks to all the students and staff at Forest Gate School today for the reception we all received from you. All the questions asked and interest shown was encouraging to Glenn and Kim, and you have a lot to be proud of. If you have any thoughts or questions you didn’t have a chance to voice today as we ran out of time, let us know.

Forgiveness is not an easy choice, but enables a person to move forward in life as Glenn did. Have a safe year, from all at Breaking the Cycle.

hi mahzabini, thank you so much for your kind words.
the feedback from your school was also very encouraging for us.
remember to allways take the positive path in life, and you will take out of life what you yourself put in to it.
forgivness is the key to a very rewarding and fulfilling life whatever your circumstances.

I think what you do is Inspirational. I was not around to hear your assembly but would have been good to hear it. I did read the book 'Why Forgive' it defiantly makes you think about things. I can’t see why a man who will never change should be forgiven. I no it may help me move on but it’s very hard to do so. Do you have any advice or help you can give me?

hi s,i am not aware of your particular problems,so its very difficult to be precise with you specifically.
But speaking from my own experiences, of how anger, resentment, and frustration prevented myself from moving on for at least 10 years of my life after my injuries, i can only advise you that life on earth is very short, anger, resentment revenge and frustration, will make your life on earth a very sad existence.
I have found that forgivness has allowed me to move on,it does not allways have to be said face to face, it can be done from within yourself.
It`s also about finding the courage to do so.Once you have found forgivness, you will, discover a sense of fullfilment in your life, which will in turn, allow you to look onwards, and upwards.

I am a student of Forest Gate Community School in year 10.I was in the assembly When Mr.Kim and Mr.Glenn was telling us their story.I was so touched when they told their story. We should really forgive the person who is near to us.
