Breaking the Cycle works on a simple premise: kids love stories. Our speakers tell personal stories of life experiences that demonstrate how conflict resolution stems from the act of forgiving and making positive choices in life.
The message is positive and universal – a direct appeal to young people to value their own lives and those of others, and to put non-violent conflict resolution into action. Talks are followed by Q&A sessions, and an informal reception is held afterwards for staff and invited guests.
Provided free of charge, Breaking the Cycle school assemblies are an excellent resource for PSHE and fulfil the Citizenship component of the National Curriculum.
See our teaching resources page for conflict resolution lesson plans and other teaching materials.
